From May 12 to June 11, 2004, the METRO Group presented "Fascinating worlds of trade" at the Ehrenhof Museum in Düsseldorf.

A total of 41,000 visitors viewed the "Fascinating worlds of trade" exhibit from the METRO Group. The exhibit was also a popular field trip for more than 8,300 school children.

This well exceeded the expectations of the organizers. Original exhibits and interactive segments allowed a glimpse behind the curtain of commerce. The focus was on five core themes: internationality, quality, advertising, logistics, and shopping worlds.

Each thematic world was presented in its own experiential room. The exhibit illustrated the context and background of trade.

Exhibits from the METRO Group archives, extraordinary interactive installations, historical and current films and slides reflected the way of life in past decades and demonstrated how trade functions today.

The METRO Group presented the exhibit to mark anniversaries for three of its retail brands.
