A whole company goes on a journey

Steelline moves from Bannewerth to Köbbinghausen: state of the art technology, logistics and organization. A generally small, inconspicuous company in Plettenberg has “gone big” in Bannewerth. Risen to metal worker and processor. And now represented by an immense complex in Köbbinghausen: Steelline Profiltechnik GmbH is a good example of healthy company expansion.

PLETTENBERG The last machines are produced and positioned, workspaces cabled up and connected, software installed and handiwork completed. The relocation of Steelline from the Bannewerth industrial estate to the Köbbinghausen industrial estate has been completed. On a hill above the other companies, a large company complex has been created in which everything goes seamlessly hand in hand together and nevertheless or maybe because of this is organised.
Production is directly next to the warehouse and delivery bay. The production floor borders the garage in which the lorries are parked. This in turn is next to packaging and the high bay warehouse. From all sides can be delivered, unloaded and loaded up. And this is all just in time, everything fits at exactly the right time and is fast and precise.

In the plants the activity like a hive, it runs like clockwork and is equally precise.  State of the art technology has arrived. The crown jewel is the high bay warehouse. Computer driven with a system developed in-house, with the newest forklifting technology. The warehouse Director David Conrad, son of Steelline Managing Director Brigitte Conrad, developed this personally. “I considered how one could use modern technology efficiently in order to save work and effort”, said David Conrad in an interview with the local paper. He is a lifting professional; he drives the special fork lift including the entire cabin up to a height of nine metres.

The warehouse software is an own invention.
The special feature of the forklifts, they inductively driven. This means that they wind themselves independently into induction loops and are led by these exactly like a conveyer belt along the shelves. “This is an own invention. I developed the warehouse administration system” says David Conrad with justified pride, as the system and software are very simple but highly effective. All are agreed “it definitely simplifies operations here”

All products of the Plettenberg company are stored in a total area of 2,186 cubic meters in the high bay warehouse.
“This is the heart”, says Managing Director Christian Bieda. The production hall is 14 metres high; the high bay warehouse is nine metres high. Steelline is however not just investing in technology, but also in the environment: photovoltaic systems have been mounted onto the roof of the production hall and also so save the company money. All offices are linked to each other, larger data cables have been laid throughout the building, and the offices are generously sized, light and friendly.

This weekend the relocation of Steelline from Bannewerth to Köbbinghausen will be completed. Into a modern, generously-sized complex

A necessary expansion.
The number of Steelline employees has risen to 40. The company was founded in 2001. For its tenth year anniversary it receives the new site on the Köbbinghausen industrial estate.
